Local Live Autumn Series this weekend, 28th-30th October

27 October 2021

The Local Live Performance Scheme was initiated by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, in the summer of 2021 as a Covid-19 measure to support the live music and arts sector.

Initially run from 1st July to 30th September, 2021, it was extended to the end of 2021 due to its success. Run by Clare Arts Office, hundreds of musical encounters have taken place throughout the county, from busking to outdoor concerts. The Autumn Series culminates this weekend with four major concerts in Ennis, Knockerra and New Quay.

The Patrick Roche Band will perform an evening of great music in Knockerra Hall on Thursday, 28th October, and they will be followed there by Mike Denver on Friday night, 29th October.

Harping On, a celebration of our national instrument, takes place in St Columba’s Church in Ennis on Saturday, 30th October. Gradam Ceoil Composer of the Year, Steve Cooney, will be joined by some of Ireland’s most celebrated harpists in what promises to be a spectacular evening of music.

Finally, Declan O’Rourke will perform in St Patrick’s Church, New Quay, on Saturday, 30th October, also with support act by local musicians.

Siobhan Mulcahy, Clare County Arts Officer, said: “It is such a pleasure to bring a range of top-quality music to communities in Clare, covering a variety of music styles and providing much-needed employment for those working in the music industry. We are currently putting our Winter Series in place and look forward to announcing another range of arts activities throughout the county in the coming weeks.”

There is limited availability for all concerts and booking details can be found at www.clarearts.ie.
